Two days earlier, Black Torch debuts from 100studio, a shinobi-meets-mononoke story from a much newer studio with no track record to lean on. Simulcasts begin June 24 and the schedule runs through October.
The safe bet: Mushoku Tensei Season 3
Studio Bind's isekai adaptation continues Rudeus Greyrat's story with the same technical polish that's made it one of the more respected entries in a genre that doesn't always earn respect. If you've stuck with it this long, July 6 needs no sales pitch.
The actual wildcard: Black Torch
Black Torch follows a teenage animal whisperer whose run-in with a mononoke cat drags the human and spectral worlds together. The source manga has a real cult following, but 100studio doesn't have the production history that Mushoku Tensei's team does, which makes this the one title in the lineup where the anime could genuinely go either way.
Everything else worth knowing
Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2 (July 4, Aura Studio) picks up Arc's fantasy-world quest with an arc centered on Count Hilk and oppressed elves and beasts, following a first season that leaned on strong action setpieces. You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2 (July 6) continues the low-stakes rom-com between Suzuki and Tani for anyone wanting reliable comfort food over ambition.
Long-runners carrying through summer include ONE PIECE's Elbaph Arc Part 2, shaping up as one of the more significant arcs in years, alongside That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4, The Drops of God, Daemons of the Shadow Realm and LIAR GAME.
Among new exclusives, Goodbye, Lara (July 6, Kinema Citrus) has the season's most unusual hook: a 200-year-old mermaid princess waking up in Lake Biwa for one last shot at life and love. I Became a Legend after My 10 Year-Long Last Stand (July 3) follows an S-rank mage returning from war to a world that moved on without him. Both have the kind of premise that could break out if the execution holds up.
